About Us

Prosper's oldest diner was founded in 2001, the population then was under 3,000. The residents of Prosper didn't have a place to dine together, meet up, or have a community place. This need was filled when Sondra Channell opened the doors for The Cotton Gin. Town officials met here, the Chamber of Commerce meetings were frequently here, local clubs and organizations also benefited from this much needed addition to our small town. The Cotton Gin is about as authentic as you can get for a small town diner. The ownership changed in 2015 to The Pettis Family, but that's about all that changed, the food is still great, you'll still run into a neighbor or two, or meet a new friend there.
